Otto is a hosted internet service which acts as a personal agent for persons wishing to post to their website from email.
A quick summary of how Otto works is quite simple: You send Otto emails and he puts the contents of those emails onto your WordPress site as blog entries.
There are actually two ways to use Otto: Otto Simple and Otto Pro. Otto Simple has only two options; either emails you send Otto are echoed back as a preview of how they would be posted, or they are posted to your website. It is really that simple. Otto Pro is for persons who want more control over their blog entries and want complete control over formatting, picture captions, to include videos in their blog entries, and more.
Otto is primarily intended for persons who are “venturing off the grid” in some way. Most Otto users are persons who are at the mercy of poor internet connections, or who do not have access to a computer. Otto allows blog entries to be “built up” in pieces. For instance, you might send Otto pictures as you take them, and then send him the text later. Although Otto was initially developed to support hikers and world-travelers we have found that anyone who uses Otto never “goes back”, regardless of their device or internet connection. Otto becomes an integral part of the process.
